Road race cars differ from oval cars in one practical way: the seating angle varies between a front-engined GT car, a mid-engined prototype, a rally car and a club saloon. The Kirkey 65 Series answers that with an adjustable back angle, set once during installation to match the chassis. The range covers everything from a near-upright touring car position to a more reclined sports car layout.
The shell is 5052-grade aluminium with a black cover included. Width options are 15, 16, 17 and 18.5 inches. Part number is 65-Series, and the listing covers the seat and cover.
The 65 Series does not have full containment sides or a separate head surround, which suits road race applications where the rulebook may not require containment and the driver values lighter weight and easier exit. If the class requires a containment head surround, the 71 Series (part 71-Series) covers road racing with full containment at a fixed 20 degree angle and accepts a six-point harness.
The 81 Series (part 81-Series) is the road race alternative sized specifically for the Spec Miata chassis. Side mounts (part 99214, listed separately) and a rear bracket (part 99212, listed separately) are not in the price. Tell us the car and class and we can advise on the mounting combination for this seat.
